Testimony of Bishop Fredrick Wafula
Born in 1971 in a very poor family, in a village called Bugema Kamira Parish, Kalangala Sub county Bamunanika county, Luwero District Uganda. The father was a catholic, and mother a protestant who later became an Adventist. In that state of confusion of faith from his parents
mainly the mother, Fredrick remained in Anglican Church with hope of being filled with the Holy Spirit after the confirmation course
undertaken in the Anglican Church. That is what they had promised them. However, his hope faded when the awaited day came, and he did not
get what he expected (The Holy Spirit) Disappointed Fredrick continued with life in the village struggling in a stinking state of poverty
growing up with a single mother, was also another disturbing experience since his mum and dad had divorced and she was pregnant by that time. Fredrick got a chance of seeing his father when he was 23years of age. He grew up with the mother and grandmother in the village of Bug em a,
The hard life in the village taught Fredrick to be hardworking looking after the family at his tender age. He used to bum and sell charcoal to look after the family and pay for his school fees. He later graduated to the business of selling second hand cars. The business was introduced to him by his Kenyan Friend and they used to buy cars from Uganda and sell them to Kenya. When bishop Wafula entered the business of selling
second hand cars, little did he know that this was his turning point of meeting with the savior Jesus Christ and also receive what he yearned for "The Holy Spirit" His first time to visit a fellowship of born again Christian was in 1993 by an invitation of his business partner. While he was there, he felt so loved, excited and experienced something unusual during the fellowship time. The next day, he demanded his friend to take him back. And this time, the preacher made an altar call for those who wanted to accept Christ. Fredrick is the only one who came up. That happened when they had gone to sell their car in Kenya. A week later during a conference back home, at Rivers of Life church Nsambya(Uganda), he experienced an encounter with God and got filled with the Holy Spirit.
After some years in church, Fredrick developed zeal of making out reaches especially in prisons and hospitals. In the mission field, he witnessed numerous miracles and won many souls for Christ. He was mentored and raised in Rural Evangelical church.
After the divine instruction, more revival out reaches were made from then till now. Winning souls, mentoring people and planting churches. More than 1 OO churches have been planted in Uganda, 20 churches in Democratic Republic of Congo and join South Sudan.
As a young minister in church, Fredrick used to lead prayer groups and participating in the ushering work at the church. After serving in Rural Evangelical for many years, Fredrick was commissioned to assist a minister in the Lord who was starting a church. But later God instructed him to separate himself for seven days of prayers and fasting. At the end of seven days, he says that he clearly heard the voice instructing him to reach out to the un-reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
